Commfy is a community-discovery app that connects people looking for communities (“Seekers”), people who run them (“Community Makers”), and people who offer spaces (“Venue Owners”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
We only collect what we need to run the app, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
Commfy is operated by Commfy Kira Ltd (“Commfy”, “we”, “us”), the data controller for the personal data described here.
- Company: Commfy Kira Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 16925072

If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at the address above and we’ll help.
Who can use Commfy
Commfy is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us their data, email [email protected] and we’ll delete it.
What data we collect
Information you give us when you sign up and set up your profile:
- Your email address and a password (or, if you use Google or Apple sign-in, the basic identity details those services share with us).
- Your name and, optionally, a profile photo.
- Your date of birth — used to confirm you’re 18+.
- Your gender, if you choose to provide it.
- Your location — either a postcode you type in, or your approximate GPS location if you tap “Use my location” and grant permission. We use this to show you communities and events near you. You can use a postcode instead of GPS at any time.
Information depending on your role:
- Seekers: your interests and what you’re looking for in a community.
- Community Makers: details about your community (name, description, images, tags), your social-media links, and the events you create.
- Venue Owners: details about your space (description, amenities, photos, availability).
Things you create and do in the app:
- Messages you send in chats, and posts and replies in community discussions.
- Polls, events, and other content you create.
- Communities and events you save, join, show interest in, or buy tickets for.
- Reports and blocks you submit, and feedback you send us.
Payment information:
- When you buy a ticket or become a Supporter, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a record of the transaction (such as the event, amount, and a payment reference) but we never see or store your full card or bank details — Stripe handles those directly.
- If you’re a Maker taking payments, your payout bank details are held by Stripe, not by us.
Information we collect automatically:
- Basic device and browser information, your IP address, and approximate region.
- How you use the app (screens viewed, actions taken), collected through analytics — see Cookies and analytics below.
- Crash and error reports, so we can fix problems.
Emails: the transactional emails we send you (confirmations, reminders, updates) and any replies you send back to us.
